Overview
Handler and Scrap Loader both feature a 177 HP Tier 4 Final engine, a hydraulically controlled elevating cab, longer arm & boom with optimized hydraulic circuits for superior attachment performance, as well as, an Anti-interference Device that automatically prevents the boom and arm from coming into contact with the machine’s structure during operation. The CX290D also features additional guarding on the cab and undercarriage designed to protect the operator and machine during tough waste and scrap handling applications.
Features
Productivity
Faster cycle times are achieved with the CASE Intelligent Hydraulic System, which provides faster and more efficient path of hydraulic flow.
The CX290D Material Handler uses a reinforced curved boom, giving operators a better angle of reach while loading semi-trucks with material. The 16’5” straight arm has a bucket tilt cylinder which allows for more precise operation of attachments. Auxiliary Lines on the arm allow for connecting attachments such as a rotating grapple or a wide variety of other attachments.
The CX290D Scrap Loader uses a straight boom and goose neck arm, ideal for simple handling and loading of scrap and waste material.
Fuel Efficiency
Both the Material Handler and Scrap Loader meet Tier 4 Final emissions standards through an innovative combination of Selective Catalytic Reduction (“SCR”) and Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (“DOC”) technologies, which helps maximize uptime and performance. No expensive Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) to replace and no DPF regeneration.
The CX290D models also offer 3 Power Modes to match different application needs and maximize fuel economy:
- Automatic (A): The best balance between productivity and fuel efficiency
- Heavy Duty (HD): High workload mode
- Speed Priority (SP): Extra speed and power for the most demanding jobs that require maximum productivity
Comfort and Visibility
Not only does the CX290D models feature the most spacious cab in their size class, but these machines also provide excellent visibility thanks to an elevating cab that raises 7.5 feet (2.5 m) from its stowed position resulting in the average operator being just over 16 feet (5.0 m) at eye level, allowing the operator to move material quicker and safer. A standard Bluetooth radio gives operators hands-free functionality that further improves the operator experience. A standard rearview camera and side camera feed a 7-inch widescreen monitor that also provides operators with real-time access to important performance parameters, including fuel consumption, operating hours and machine information. The optional CASE Max View Monitor provides 270o visibility, providing the operator full visibility of machine’s surroundings.
Serviceability
CASE understands the importance of uptime and machine utilization. Part of CASE’s DNA is providing easy access for operator and service technicians to complete their daily walkarounds and routine service inspections. The CX290D excavator models are no exception. Hydraulic oil site gauges, DEF level sight gauge, grouped service points, and auto-locking side panels that stay open make it easy to perform routine maintenance. Standard oil sample ports allow service technicians to easily take samples and check the quality of the hydraulic oil and the engine oil. Extra-large DEF tanks provide a Refill frequency of 4-5 times to 1 fuel fill. Increased number of handrails make it EASIER and SAFER operators and service techs to get around the machine, complete the daily walkarounds and/or service checks, and get the machine back into production.
